The International Sailors Society New Zealand Incorporated (ISSNZ), which is commonly known as the Sailors Society, is the umbrella organisation representing six independent affiliated organisations in New Zealand (Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Bluff, Lyttelton, Otago, Port Taranaki).
The ISSNZ has a Board of Directors representing each of the member societies. The Board appoints a Chairman and an Honorary National Secretary/Treasurer. The Secretary liaises with the members and is the point of contact with the parent body, the Sailors Society in the UK. The National Secretary and appointed directors serve on the Seafarers Welfare Board of New Zealand.
The Society is affiliated to the International Christian Maritime Association (ICMA) and to the Seafarers Welfare Board for New Zealand (Inc).
